With Bluetooth you can only start, pause and skip tracks. If you want to start a playlist, an album or just a song you gotta do it on the phone. With Mitsumi / Columbus you can do all this on the car's touchscreen and you get Album art. It's just more integrated. Whether it's of value to you is up to the individual.

I got it to work in mine by creating a Hotspot on my iPhone and then connecting the car to that. I registered using the Skoda connect app and then entered a code into the car in Settings, Skoda Connect, Register. Only really used the online traffic functionality on the satnav and sending destinations to the car from the App.
